Lavender Benefits For Skin & Ways You Can Use It

Sometimes your skin needs extra effort and love to regain the lost radiance. That extra boost can be a multipurpose natural ingredient, lavender. Lavender for skin is used in the form of water, commonly known as lavender hydrosol or lavender hydrolat. It is known for its soft and calming aroma, followed by incredible benefits for the skin. If you are also intrigued by this incredible flower, here are some of the lavender benefits for skin:

  • Battles Blemishes: The one thing that annoys the most post-acne is acne scars that are left behind. By regenerating damaged tissues and skin cells, lavender water reduces scarring, lightens scars, and aids in the growth of new tissues and skin cells.

  • Anti-aging: Lavender is packed with vitamin A, which is one of the most known ingredients for anti-aging. Retinol, retinaldehyde, tretinoin, and many more are often used in anti-aging products, and all these are a derivative of vitamin A.

  • Anti-Inflammatory: Lavender water maintains the pH level of the skin. For those with eczema, acne, or redness, mist lavender water on their faces.

  • Minimizes Open Pores: Open pores are an invitation to dirt, dead skin cells, and bacteria. Due to the astringent properties possessed by lavender, it helps to minimize the pore size and also unclogs the pores while imparting a radiant glow.

Here are some of the ways in which you can use lavender for skin:

As A Toner:

  • After cleansing your face

  • Take a cotton ball or a cotton pad

  • Dip it in the lavender water.

  • Gently wipe your face & neck with it.

  • Wait for it to dry out.

  • Then top it up with a moisturizer.

As A Makeup Setting Spray:

  • For this, you need to have a clean bottle of face spray.

  • Fill the bottle with lavender water.

  • After you are done with your makeup, hold the spray bottle at least 5 meters away.

  • Spray it across your face at least 2-3 times.

As A Face Mist:

  • You can use it in the same way you used it as a makeup setting spray.

  • Or, if you are looking for a readily available option, you can go for Kashmiri Lavender Facial Mist: This mist contains 100% natural lavender water. Lavender helps fade blemishes and has anti-aging properties. It also fights inflammation and has a calming effect on the skin. It is made with 100% natural ingredients, and the pleasant smell of lavender is very therapeutic.

  • Keep the face pack for 20 minutes.

  • Wash it off with lukewarm water & pat dry.
